The MFL Big Band’s members hold chairs or regularly deputise on current West End shows such as Wicked, Legally Blonde, Sweet Charity, Flashdance, and Billy Elliot and have also backed such stars as Frank Sinatra, Dame Shirley Bassey, Michael Bublé, Barry Manilow, Rod Stewart, Barry White, Gary Barlow, Gareth Gates, Björk and Lemar to name but a few.

REM Tribute have been around since 1996. Formed by Rick, the original line-up gigged mainly in the North of England and Scotland. Over the next few years Rick also fronted Midlands based “Monster” playing many gigs throughout the U.K and Europe, honing and perfecting Michael Stipe’s very individual stage persona.

In 2002, Rick decided it was time for a new Stipe, and along with Monster keyboard player Pete, recruited Tony on bass guitar, Paul on guitar and Nick on drums.

The band members’ history is reassuringly impressive. They have performed in some of the best music venues in London, UK, Europe and America including The Royal Albert Hall, The Viper Rooms in Los Angeles (Johnny Depp’s club), The London Palladium, Millennium Dome, Millennium Stadium, IndigO2 and Shepherds Bush Empire.

Recording and session work has also taken place at some of the UK’s finest studios, with some of the country’s best new artists, as well as live TV and radio performances across the UK and America; including BetaRecordsTV, Phoenix at Pinewood Studios, RAK Studios, Applebeam Studios, Eden Studios, Kensal Road Studios and Cava Studios, to name but a few. And, as if that wasn’t enough, the band’s function experience also stems to cruise contracts with P&O, and gigs all across the UK and Europe for companies such as Fly Emirates and American Express.

We had Rendezvous play for our wedding and I can’t tell you how fantastic they were. From start to end they were so friendly and helpful which made such a difference as there were a few delays during the day meaning that things were running a bit late but the bad were fantastic, they just took it in their stride and worked around us. The music itself was perfect and they even learnt our first dance! Everybody commented about how good they were. My husband and I got married on July 17th 2010 and we were looking for a band that not only was amazing but could also help us organise our music in between them playing. The Rendezvous were this band! At the beginning we explained exactly what we were looking for. We had asked our guests pick their favourite songs and also put a list of our favourite songs together. Along with the bands help, they gave us a list of what they would sing in two sets. All the other music they helped us download and put in a suitable order and with the equipment they used, were able to play our songs from 6pm until midnight with their two sets in between.

That was just the beginning!! On the day itself, they had coordinated with the hotel without any help from me, to set up. I didn’t even know they were there, they were so professional.

When they started to play everyone got up on the dance floor and they literally stayed that way all night. I have been to so many weddings where it all dies down and believe me the band got absolutely everyone on the dance floor. OUTSTANDING!

From start to finish they were a great support to my husband and I and to be honest took so much stress away from our wedding planning. We will be using them again at every opportunity for parties and we cannot recommend them enough.
