With their smart suits and ability to actually play their instruments the Pleasers Quartet were at the forefront of the new wave of guitar-based groups that swept through the Britain’s music industry in the late 70’s.

They wrote and performed great songs with superb harmonies, jangling guitars and pure sixties drum fills, and their live shows brought back the fashion for being surrounded by cool guys wearing thin ties and screaming mini skirted girls.

As proud Londoners, the group described their sound as Thamesbeat but you might know it better by the name their music was given by press of the time: Powerpop. Yes The Pleasers were the group who gave birth to the title that defines strong melodic pop to this day.

Client Comments
Genius at work! Thank you for an excellent performance at my sisters wedding. I have to say, myself and the guests were in awe and thoroughly enjoyed the music and your unique voice melted a lot of hearts!!! I lost count the amount of times I had people asking me where I found you and generally complementing a superbly accomplished performance. I know within 48 hours I had received 2 requests from guests asking how to book your services, I only hope one day you will play on the stage your talent so deserves. Keep me posted of any up and coming gigs you may have I would love to follow what I believe will be a great career.
Many Thanks!
-Terry Jeffreys

We have worked with Hugh Pryce for over a year. He has performed many times for us and has always received positive feedback. He has always left a lasting impression on guests at the venues he has played prompting clients to enquire about him directly a number of times. Hugh is always on time, smart and has a brilliant attitude. We would highly recommend him to any client.
-Simon & Craig

We just want to say a huge thank you for playing at our wedding. You were fantastic and we are both very pleased to have discovered you and your talent. Several of our guests have commented on your music too and said how much they enjoyed it. Thanks also for learning our first dance, loved the way you sang it! Next time we are in London we will be in touch and hopefully come and hear you again.
- Karen Stevens

Had a brilliant time last night – you played some awesome tunes and people commented on what a talented trio you all are. Your music is really uplifting. It was excellent and thank you so much – I hope you enjoyed playing as much as we enjoyed hearing you. I would thoroughly recommend you.
- Jackie Barry at Bechtel Plc

Just wanted to drop you a note to say thank you so much for playing at the engagement party on Saturday. Everybody enjoyed your music so much – we have had some really lovely feedback. We will definitely be recommending you. Thanks again!
- Sandy Jarrett

Hugh has played a residency at our Battersea Park gigs to crowds of up to 1000 at a time and over the four hours of the gig to listeners in the thousands. His repertoire is wide-ranging and I would gladly recommend him to anyone looking at using his services.

You played at our wedding on the 6th august and I just wanted to thank you again as you were wonderful!!! Hugh, you were the perfect sound track to a great day.
- Angela Toft

Hugh Pryce played at our wedding and he was great. He has a wide repertoire of songs, including jazz, soul and Latin music, both ballads and more uptempo numbers. He was highly professional and there was fantastic feedback from the guests. He is also very easy to deal with, which made our wedding preparations that bit easier. We’d definitely book Hugh again!
- Chris Tennant

We at Steppin Out are delighted at the response we have received since adding Hugh to our database and website. Hugh is a popular choice, we often receive enquiries regarding his availability, unfortunately due to demand Hugh is not always available. Hugh is a personal favourite of mine and have no hesitation in recommending him to any of my clients.
- Terry Penn

I arranged for Hugh Pryce to provide live music at my sister’s wedding celebration, and was extremely pleased with the result. The music was excellent, and really made the occasion – it contributed amazingly to the ambience of the dinner (in a large hall). From discussing our requirements, through to setting up and the performance itself, he and his band displayed a very high level of professionalism and I wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again or recommend him to others.

Take it Easy Duo are the acoustic guitar covers duo who combine timeless classic tunes with more contemporary style numbers, with a few surprises and remixes along the way. Over a three hour set, they take the punters from relaxing and sinking a few quiets with the more dulcet tones of the first set, progressing through to a good old fashioned dance with their faster set.

This range of music has been designed to follow the natural progression of an evening out and encourage patrons to join them for a dance on the dance floor. Take it Easy Duo are more than just an acoustic guitar duo, they combine several instruments to achieve their unique, fuller sound. These include:
- Bass box
- Tambourine stomp
- Bongos
- The guitars themselves in an inventive, percussive manor

Client Comment
On Behalf of the Saint Kentigern School Parents & Friend Association, I would like to say how pleased we have been with the services of Take it Easy Duo.

Every year we have our “Fire works Display” where we have over 3,000 people attend. For 3 years from 2005-2007 Take it Easy Duo where the main act before the actual fireworks display. They where extremely popular with the crowd and where great at getting the crowd “revered up” before the main fireworks event.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this band for any event that they wish to undertake. Their enthusiasm, as well as their natural talent was outstanding and they certainly went a long way to making our event the success it was.

Yours faithfully,
Lorna

Cy Stanley is the perfect soloist for an occasion that needs a little liveliness, or just something gentle nestled away in the background. His skill on acoustic guitar and voice and unique interpretations of popular songs make him extremely versatile and a sure crowd pleaser.

Cy Stanley began his music carer in Auckland, New Zealand playing 5 nights a week in a number of rock, pop, and even bluegrass bands and duos throughout a city that thrives on live music.

While he is a soloist, his command of the acoustic guitar and voice can easily have the whole room up dancing, just as it can sit tucked away in the background. His repertoire of unique interpretations of hits from the 50’s to today will add a whole lot of fun to any occasion, and also a touch of class.

Client Comment
Now that my wedding has been and gone, I’d like to thank you for helping me book Cy Stanley. He was absolutely fantastic and a consumate professional.

Not only did he learn a special song that I happened to mention in casual conversation (an obscure Maori love song), but he played all night long, which was absolutely awesome.

Apart from leaving my guests truly gobsmacked by his excellent vocals and expert guitar playing, by the end of the night it felt like saying goodbye to a friend; someone who’d gone out of his way to make our night a success.

In a nut shell, he turned perhaps your average wedding (with a cheesy dj, cake and champagne) into the best night of my life – leaving my new wife and I with many special memories, which will always stay with us. (Many of my friends and family were equally moved by his music.)

Perhaps the best thing about Cy, as well, is his easy going, modest and warm personality, which shines through his music. At times I felt privileged to be listening to what is undoubtedly an outstanding talent… I wish him every future success; he deserves it.

I want to thank you as well for making the booking so easy and transparent. I’ll certainly use MFL again in the future, and feel free to contact me if you need any client references etc – I’ll happily offer my support.

With many thanks,
Sam and Questa Karlsson

Damon is one of the rare breeds of musicians who combines live playing with backing tracks with pure panache as they don’t sound like backing tracks and the backing tracks never overwhelm the live guitar sounds.

All the backing tracks were recorded live with Damon playing percussion and keyboards. He is a performer your guests will be impressed with, his mastery on the guitar is a joy to hear and watch. He is ideal for events where you require background music but at the same time don’t want it to disappear into the “background”.
